You know my Name by Elrowiel You know my Name by Elrowiel
Here is the first I'm posting of Pannon and my Summit costumes. She and I worked on these for weeks and rehearsed equally as long for our entry. I'm really pleased with how we performed and how well everything turned out. I think perhaps there are a few things I woould change given the time ( and somethings I may still change), but really...I'm very pleased.

The title of this is based on one of the lines from the song we used in our presentation.

This dress is based on the Clamp in Cardland butterfly dress and both the dress and Lelouches designs come form the mutality artbook.
The dress ate about 15 yards, all of which had to be hand edged for the cut work. I drew up the butterfly designs and then traced them onto my fabric with silver sharpie and used a heat knife attatchment to a wood burning tool.

yep! I looked long and hard to find a match for my skin tone! I knew it needed to be convincing to work as it was supposed too!

This is beautifully AMAZING! You did such an amazing job! Seriously. The time and love you put into this definitely shows. What exactly is the "heat knife attachment to a wood burning tool" you used? I've never heard of anything like that before. Is it what you used to cut out the shapes?

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you liked it so much! It certainly was time consuming! lol.

basicly it's a wood burning toll you get from the craft store, but they have different tips for it. I like the one that looks like the tip of an old fountain pen. I just use it to sear all the edges. You see, fabric frays when you cut it, and to do cut work like this (so much and this style) I needed a way to so cut work without needing to embroider around the edges and making it really heavy. So I experimented and came up with this!
It works an any synthetic fabric. I like to test fabric first. but if it can be melted, this technique will work. It's really useful for when you need a very sharp edge in applique!
